In the fall of 2023, I received a message from Spirit that sent chills all throughout my body: 2024 would mark the beginning of the Great Heart Awakening. This awakening is an era where humanity is called to peel back the layers, to drop the armor, and to open their hearts more than ever before. Since that moment, I’ve dedicated every day to this journey, working to open my heart even more, not just for myself but to better guide others on their path to healing and awakening as well.
One of the most profound ways I’ve been doing this work is by helping people identify and release their energetic heart-walls. But what exactly is a heart-wall, and how does it impact your life? Let’s dive into the teachings of Dr. Bradley Nelson and the Emotion Code to explore what this all means.
“Your heart is not meant to be a fortress but a sanctuary.”
What is an Energetic Heart-Wall?
According to Dr. Bradley Nelson, a heart-wall is an energetic barrier our subconscious mind constructs to protect us from emotional pain. Think of it as an invisible fortress built around your heart, made up of trapped emotions and past traumas. These energetic blocks are a defense mechanism your body uses to shield you from further hurt, but like all good defenses, they come with their own set of consequences.
The idea of a heart-wall is that over time, as we experience pain, loss, or betrayal, we start stacking up emotional bricks. One by one, we build this wall around our hearts, keeping the world out and our true feelings locked in. While it may seem like a good idea in the moment—who wouldn’t want to protect themselves from further heartbreak?—the truth is, these walls often do more harm than good.
The Internal and External Impact of Having a Heart-Wall
Having a heart-wall can impact you in countless ways, both internally and externally.
Internally, an energetic heart-wall can manifest as feelings of numbness or emotional detachment. You might find it hard to connect with your emotions or feel like you’re not fully present in your own life. This barrier can block your ability to give and receive love freely, stifling your natural capacity for compassion and empathy. It’s like living with your heart in a cage—safe, yes, but unable to beat freely.
Physically, you might notice symptoms like tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing deeply, or even heart palpitations. Energetically, a heart-wall can create a sense of heaviness or blockage in the heart chakra, leading to an imbalance that affects your overall energy flow.
Externally, a heart-wall can create a ripple effect in your relationships and interactions. You may find it challenging to form deep connections or struggle with intimacy, trust, and vulnerability. You might attract people who are emotionally unavailable or, conversely, repel those who could truly love and support you. A heart-wall can also affect your ability to manifest your desires, as the energy you send out to the universe is blocked or distorted by the wall around your heart.
How to Know if You Have a Heart-Wall: Signs and Symptoms
So, how do you know if you have a heart-wall? Here are some common signs and symptoms to watch out for:
- Emotional Numbness or Disconnection: You feel like you’re going through the motions of life but not fully feeling or engaging with your emotions.
- Difficulty Giving or Receiving Love: You struggle with intimacy or find it hard to express love and affection openly.
- Repetitive Relationship Patterns: You notice a pattern of attracting emotionally unavailable partners or feel stuck in a cycle of unfulfilling relationships.
- Physical Symptoms: Tightness or heaviness in the chest, heart palpitations, or difficulty breathing deeply can all be physical manifestations of a heart-wall.
- Feeling Stuck or Blocked: You feel like there’s an invisible barrier preventing you from moving forward or achieving your goals.
- Fear of Vulnerability: You have a strong fear of being vulnerable or opening up to others, preferring to keep your true self hidden.
What to Do if You Think You Have a Heart-Wall
If any of these signs resonate with you, it might be time to consider that you have a heart-wall. The good news is that you don’t have to live with it forever! There are steps you can take to start breaking down those energetic barriers and open your heart to a fuller, more vibrant life.
- Awareness and Intention: The first step is simply becoming aware that you have a heart-wall. Set the intention to release it and open your heart to love, joy, and healing.
- Work with an Energy Healer: Schedule a session with a practitioner experienced in the Emotion Code or similar energy healing modalities. At The Wild Aura, I use a combination of muscle testing, magnet-based techniques, and intuitive guidance to help identify and release trapped emotions that form your heart-wall.
- Practice Self-Compassion and Forgiveness: Begin a practice of self-compassion and forgiveness. This means forgiving yourself for past mistakes and being gentle with yourself as you work through the layers of your heart-wall.
- Journal Prompts to Help Open Your Heart:
- What past experiences have caused me to build a wall around my heart?
- How do I feel when I think about being truly open and vulnerable?
- What would it feel like to live without a heart-wall?
- In what ways have I been blocking love from entering my life?
- What steps can I take today to open my heart a little more?
- Daily Heart-Opening Practices: Incorporate heart-opening practices into your daily routine. This could be as simple as doing heart-centered meditations, practicing gratitude, or consciously choosing to act with love and compassion in every interaction.
How to Start Releasing Layers of Your Heart-Wall
Releasing a heart-wall is a process, often involving peeling back layers of old wounds and emotions, much like peeling an onion. It takes time, patience, and a willingness to go deep. Some ways to begin releasing these layers include:
- Regular Energy Healing Sessions: Working consistently with a healer can help you gradually release trapped emotions and clear your heart-wall.
- Emotional Release Techniques: Learn techniques like EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), breathwork, or sound healing to help release trapped emotions.
- Inner Child Work: Often, our heart-walls are built during childhood to protect our inner child. Working to heal your inner child can help dismantle these old defenses.
- Connecting with Nature: Spend time in nature, particularly in places that feel heart-opening to you, like near water or among trees. Nature can be incredibly healing for the heart.
